Winter 2010 – Week 10

No Dance in the Vampire Bund this week, hasn’t been released in time.

Obligatory reminder : that’s not an overall ranking, just my ‘personal’ appreciation of the latest episode of each show. (< obligatory copypasta so I don’t have to think of an intro)

#1 ↑↑ Hanamaru Youchien (9)

First half was rather nice Yamamoto-sensei-imouto goodness. As for the second half, it condensed major EPIC WIN within a few minutes. The children’s dreams were very amusing. Hiiragi-chan’s one was pure awesomeness and lulz, and adult Hiiragi is cool and HAWT. And when I thought it couldn’t be better after that, we got Tsucchi flashback scene including loli Satsuki-chan <3 <3 <3. And finally, got my teachers of love talking about why they decided to become teacher. It even finished with some kind of ‘harem anime’ hint. Man, so much greatness packed into only a half-episode, my head was about to explode…

#2 ↓↓ Chu-Bra!! (10)

Kiyono episode. Very nice, it got everything : lulz, moe, light drama, DFC fondling action… Kiyono is great as always, and she gets a quite funny hidden comical side too (vacuum cleaner XD). She even served us her killer gentle smile~ <3 <3 <3 <3 <3. Also, we get to know who she’s in love with. Sadly to me, that ain’t Nayu-chan XD (yeah I know I’ve been the only one hoping that, lol). Anyway, good stuff.

#3 ↑↑ So-Ra-No-Wo-To (10)

Ah~, now that was really a good episode. Beautiful and moving story, and Rio-sempai leaving the platoon was quite a heartbreaking moment… But still, I dunno. It was really good indeed, but I think it’s the lack of ‘happy moments’ which made me rank it lower than Chu-Bra. I mean, I think I’m missing the ‘happy yuriishi slice-of-life’ mood from the early episodes too much…

#4 ↑↑ Ladies vs Butlers! (10)

DAICHI-KUN EPISODE ENCORE. What else can I say ? Daichi goodness from the beginning to the end, she showed tons of cute various faces. But I’m telling you, Daichi-kun : This feeling is not friendship, IT’S LOVE ! No, really, why are they getting rid of Daichi-kun from the love equation ? I WANT THE DAICHI-KUN ENDING ! Now this is Tomomi vs Flameheart-san duel for the end (though Tomomi wasn’t even in love with Hino one episode ago, lol), while Daichi is still the cutest little thing of this show and needs deh happy end.

#5 ↑↑ Kaidan Restaurant (12)

Great episode. This week, the Thriller Restaurant served us a well-balanced meal, containing all the spices of a good Kaidan ep. First story was quite the lulz~ (I want beer XD). Second story was very moving, surely the best story I’ve seen so far in that show. And last story was ‘scary’ (or rather, ‘disturbing’ XD). Gochisou-sama deshita~

#6 ↓↓ Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu (10)

Enjoyable episode. When the Kinoshita twins confronted each others at the beginning, I thought it would turn into a Hideyoshi episode, but sadly enough it didn’t happen. Maa it was still a rather funny episode, with some Hideyoshi saabisu and even some ‘seriousnees’ and plot. :o For some reason, they brought the old ED back. :/

#7 Omamori Himari (10)

Lot of saabisu (normal thing) and some cute moments. They even used the second track from the OP cd, a song that I quite like. No surprise but still an enjoyable watch.

#8 Kimi ni Todoke (22)

Finally, it’s focusing again on Sawako-chan. But I must say that it doesn’t catch my interest as much as it used to…

Next episode’s preview :
Kurumizawa… KURUMIZAWA WA…
KAETTE KURU NDAAAAA !!! T_T \o/ \o/ \o/ \ô/ \o/

No Railgun corner because I haven’t watched so much Railgun recently. Actually, I’ve started to watch Heartcath Precure (5 episodes released so far), the newest season of the hugely popular mahou shoujo show aimed at little girls but watched by almost every otaku in japan.

This is actually my first Precure season. Since it gets new characters and isn’t related to previous seasons, I thought I could as well give it a watch. Maa, this is mahou shoujo kid show indeed, so the interest is pretty limited. The only entertainments I find in it are mostly Erika-chan’s cuteness and the deep and heartwarming girls friendship. Still, when I’m watching it I feel like I’m commiting some kind of crime, lol~… Anyway, I must say that they do a great job at promoting deep girls friendship in this show. Japan, raising your yurikkos since 1973. I’m not sure I’ll throw this show in the ranking though…

ED is pretty high quality, with great 3D and motion-capture.
I wouldn’t mind watching a whole 3D anime with such quality.

Also, the Spring anime season officially starts in 2 weeks, but we already got a taste from it, since the first episode of Working! got pre-released.

YES, ASUMIS !

… And it was EPIC WIN. Totally hilarious, with fucked-up main guy and uber cute heroine (CV : Kana Asumi, aka Yunocchi in Hidamari Sketch <3 <3 <3 <3). This show was in my first pick already, but it went way beyond my expectations. Definitely the show I’m looking the most forward to with K-On!!. I’m waiting the official release for throwing it in the ranking.

And finally, the Original Net Animation Yutori-chan started, with 4 episodes released so far. The episodes are only 3 minutes long, but they’re really funny. It even gets a bit of yuriish feelings (see below), and Tsumekomi-sempai is love (CV : Kana Hanazawa <3 <3 <3 <3 <3)

Waifu Top 5 : #1 Saten-san, 2# Kiyono, 3#Daichi-kun, 4#Kawashiro-sensei, 5# Erika-chan
